What is a projection? (the number on each athlete or team card)

A projection is the number you see on each athlete or team card on a contest entry screen — for example, 30.16 PTS or 245.5 PASS YDS. It's an estimated range for that athlete's or team's performance in the contest's stat category, based on:

• Historical performance trends

• Available official sports data

• Matchup context (opponent, recent form)

Projections are informational only. They are not a promise, guarantee, or warranty of future performance, and they are not betting odds. Actual performance may differ materially. Projections are set when a contest is posted and remain static once the contest locks — they are not updated during games.

Projections do not determine how contests are scored. Contests are scored and settled using only official final game statistics from our data providers. Projections are a reference, not a result.
